Furthermore, Spanish Water in the Jan Thiel area is an excellent location for all kinds of water sports such as wakeboarding, water skiiing, windsurfing and boating.  Also many tourist attractions and the new Jan Thiel shopping area are located in Banda Ariba.  
In this part of the island you will find many recently finished homes and hotels. Many people from abroad have purchased or built a second home in this popular area of Curacao. Neigbourhoods such as Bottelier, Jan Sofat, Vista Royal, Brakkeput Abou and Brakkeput Ariba are all located in this area (Jan Thiel).
